After a few weeks of Fellows at the NC Study Center, I walked Danielle outside to her moped, where we proceeded to talk for the next hours. This was the night I knew I liked her, and turns out its also when she knew she liked me.
I invited Danielle to the Cru Friendsgiving at Waypoint Church (where we now go together). She brought a peach cobbler, and I teased her a lot for not knowing geography.
We talked about our families and started to really get to know more than surface-level details. We talked for so long that we completely missed the swing dancing event that was happening... man did I regret that.
Well, that worked out well. My church has a special fundraising event for missions and it just happened to be swing dancing, and thankfully Danielle was willing to join me.
She was baking for the party and invited me over to help. We made a chicken pot pie, a pull-apart Christmas tree, and a Nutella Christmas tree (which unfortunately did not survive the oven). We got our first photo together that night. Afterwards, we went back to my dorm, and I humbly beat her at pool.
We had both gone home for winter break, but I wanted to see her more, so I took her out for her birthday. We met up in Shelby, got lunch, and then walked around downtown Shelby and Hobby Lobby for hours.
Danielle and her mom had driven around the mountains looking at the new snow. I wanted to see the snow (but mostly wanted to see Danielle again), so I asked if she wanted to go up to Beech Mountain with me for a day trip. She didn't want me to drive that far, so I said I was going either way. Thankfully, she didn't call my bluff and came with me.

On December 14, 2025, surrounded by love and God’s presence, we said “yes” to forever.
